Today has been a glorious day. I finished my cover letter, hung out with Sarah and Ted and Christian, and then had quite possible the best sex of my life.

I've had a fantastic two days.

Yesterday, I helped make pornaments for the Taos Christmas Tree. It's a holiday tradition! I hope the tree doesn't get stolen by 21st this year. Later, I alternated between studying and hanging out on the sundeck. There was socialization, and fire + s'mores! Yum.

Today, the test I was studying for was delayed until Monday due to inclement weather, and I was flashed by two females at once. Also, I slid around the icy sundeck and ate green pot butter on toast.

Dream Watch
We had landed on another planet earlier. I don't remember what we did there - maybe the same thing we did on this planet - Iasto (so called because it seemed both like Io and Callisto).

I was one of the first to land. We had highly advanced technology, even though we were still exploring the solar system (were we?). I could breathe even without knowing anything about the air composition. Only myself and an older woman had come down in the flyer.

We landed in a small crater area. Our flyer settled down between the northeast wall of the crater and the pool near the center. I don't remember the postflight procedure, but only bounding out and immediately examining the pool. There were tiny brown and yellow crustaceans, maybe 5 mm from head to tail, crawling around inside the pool. There were other forms, too, but not nearly as common.

I kept telling other people, "This planet has life! This planet has life!" but nobody wanted to listen. I wanted us to leave so we didn't destroy the life with our more-competitive biology, but never stated that explicitly. Everyone else acknowledged the life but didn't care.

More people arrived, including Admin (who gave me a sarcastic response to my statement of life). We set up a camp on the northern side of the crater, and carved a banner in the western side of the crater. Eventually we had a meeting - everyone was sitting, facing Admin, who asked for volunteers to go through a portal that had appeared by the engraving on the west side.

The portal was pretty - a shimmering field of reds and oranges, sometimes flickering past the floating ring that seemed to sustain it. It was a few feet across.

Two people volunteered - a white fellow and a skinny black guy. They both went into the portal as we watched - the white fellow on the south side, the black guy at the same time, on the north side.

A muscular man with no clear skin color emerged from the north side. A thick metallic (maybe - it was incredibly hard but wasn't silver) snake slithered from the other.

The emerged man (who I'll call Mark for shorthand) amazed the colony with several acrobatic feats. He could lift an insane amount of weight. Eventually, he and myself were on the north side of the base camp (we had done something there, but were now finished). I asked him if he desired to return to his former self, and he almost started crying because he wanted to so badly. The snake threatened us, but we evaded it and returned to the portal, which he went through.

The portal transported us to a station in space. It was a huge cube edifice, scattered with walkways and stairs and metal support structures. It was mostly transparent, as there were holes in everything. None of us had a problem with air, although it was undefined whether there was any.

The snake was there too, and a portal (the same one?). We contrived to get the snake and Mark into the portal, but all that came out was a skinnier, more aggressive snake. Sorry, Mark.

The snake ceased to matter, though, because Admin appeared with some of his followers. I assume they were from the military - the followers were all females, and in the equivalent of their 20s - young. They wanted me for questioning. They chased me, and I ran. Or, rather, climbed through the support structures. I evaded the military and eventually only Admin was chasing me. We were now near the middle of the station.

I found another being. I assume it was an AI, because it was both very intelligent and stationary. It tried to explain to me what the hell was going on, but Admin came and made me move away. I think Admin might have broken the AI.

To explain the next bit... I have some vague recollections of earlier having the power to transmute objects into other forms. I think this power, and maybe others associated with it, were why Admin wanted me. We ended up in a large room, in a standoff. Admin told me that if he caught me, he would exile me on an empty moon, with nothing but a bottle of vodka to keep me company. I obviously didn't want that, and fled. I think for some reason I created a golden guitar, and gave it to him before leaving. He was confused by this - perhaps that was the reason.

I found a machine to produce materials and matter. I was paging through the list of items, trying to find a particular one, when I woke up.

The weather is *wonderful.* A cold front blew over Austin yesternoon. I can wear my new plastijacket, because NPR this morning said forty-four degrees outside. Mmm.
